2009 Lamborghini Murciélago LP640-4 Coupe
The release of the Murciélago marked an important transition in Lamborghini history. It became the last Lamborghini, and one of the very last supercars in history to offer a raw analog driving experience. This LP640-4 Coupe is a beautiful example of the Murciélago, fully evolved and perfectly refined. It sports a 6.5L Naturally-Aspirated Rear-Mid Engine Layout V12 pushing an extra 60 horses over the 6.2. Not only was it 300CC more in bore, but it received upgraded forged pistons and rods, a more balanced crankshaft, refinements to cooling and lubrication galleries and supports, and a new intake manifold with dual-stage variable-length runners, that gave it higher revs and the ability to handle higher compression, higher octane sensitivity, and hence: more power—reliably. The engine is paired to a re-tuned automated H-pattern gearbox, now also with a bigger clutch, revised pressure plate and flywheel, and beefier driveshaft and CV joints to handle transferring that power to all four wheels with a 70/30 rear-bias.
